Destination: Wedding In Exotic Locale!

By Becky Burrington

Getting married outside of the United States? Be sure you understand the rules and regulations before you go. In St. Martaan, divorced women must wait at least 306 days after their divorce is finalized. In the French West Indies, either bride-to-be or groom-to-be must be a resident for 30 days. A residency card is required and all documents must be translated into French. In Belize, requirements for residency are only three days. On the fourth day, you can apply for a Belize marriage license, which costs nothing, but must be signed and approved by the Justice of the Peace, and that can take a few days. In Aruba, a marriage license costs $80 during the week, and $200 on Saturday, holidays or after-office hours.

Gaining in popularity are Destination Weddings, for couples planning their wedding and honeymoon away from their hometowns. By inviting less people, they can save a bundle on the usual $20,000 to $40,000 cost of a wedding. Destination wedding etiquette tells us that invited guests pay for their own transportation, and the bride and groom pay for lodging, food and beverages.  While a remote mountaintop or Disney World can be the backdrop for a destination wedding, the top ten most popular locales are Mexico, Jamaica, Dominican Republic, Bahamas, Hawaii, the Virgin Islands, Aruba, Fiji, on a cruise or somewhere in Europe.

So, what should a bride wear to a destination wedding? The answer to that question can be found at All Brides Beautiful, a full-service bridal salon, at 219 Main Street in beautiful downtown Hudson, Ohio. With the largest selections of designer destination gowns in the area, the staff at All Brides Beautiful has the unique ability to help select the most flattering style for any shape. You are pampered in a comfortable, private salon, through selection, custom alterations and beyond. Owner Bobbie Lopez proudly explains, “Our customer service and gown selection are far superior to larger, more impersonal ‘big-box-retail’ stores. We display dresses from a select group of fashion designers, and our next trunk show features Destination Bridal gowns by two incredibly fabulous designers, Winnie Couture and Sally Crew.”

All Brides Beautiful goes well beyond expectations for Destination Wedding customer care. Lopez says, “Each gown is packed in a bust form and one of our opaque garment bags with extra tissue paper, to prevent too much wrinkling. Brides can call ahead to their destination hotel and many of them will provide pressing of the gown, if needed. This is more and more of a future trend as brides, their fiancés and respective families live in all parts of the world.  A beautiful location for a destination wedding is well worth the price of the airfare.”

Sally Crew Couture gowns are made of the finest silks, accented with exquisite Swarovski beading. Each Sally Crew gown in the All Brides Beautiful salon is an original design and cannot be found elsewhere. Winnie Couture, a husband and wife team, offers a modern mix of classic elegance and sophistication, with silhouettes that are flattering and timeless. Winnie Couture’s Destination Bridal collection debuted in 2006. The Destination Bridal Trunk Show at All Brides Beautiful is Friday, December 26, and Saturday, December 27, offering a special discount of 25% off any in-stock destination gown and 10% off any special order destination gown.
