“There are friendships imprinted on our ♥♥hearts♥♥ that will never be diminished by time and distance” -Dodinsky

Your maids are a big part of what makes your wedding day so special. Having your closest girls beside you as you devote all of yourself to the love of your life makes the day even more beautiful! In the past few years, there has been a change in the bridal industry to focus more heavily on bridesmaids and the overall look of your wedding. Through social media and magazines, many brides are paying more attention to the color palette that they choose and are finding unique ways to make their maids both compliment their overall vision and stand out individually.

2017 has been full of amazing bridesmaid trends that are completely unique from the years before!

Here are 5 Bridesmaid Trends Taking Over 2017:

1.Mix & Match ♥

The mix & match trend has become popular over the past few years, but has made it’s appearance at full force this year! Brides are letting their bridesmaids choose styles that showcase their own personality while keeping to a specific color palette. Mixing and matching goes beyond just styles, bridesmaids are now choosing different fabrics such as sequins, tulle, and chiffon combining multiple textures for an overall look.

2. Separates ♥

Separates are a great way to combine different fabrics for a beautiful contrast. Choose a sequins top with a tulle skirt, or a lace top with a chiffon skirt. Separates are a great way to customize your bridal party to perfectly match your vision. We adore the Jenny Yoo ‘Cleo’ lace top with the Louise skirt-the perfect combination to incorporate lace & tulle!

3.  Floral Patterns ♥

Florals are unique and add a completely different element to your wedding look. Floral patterns can be subtle to compliment and blend in or more dramatic to stand out and make a statement. One thing we have seen that brides have done is put their maid of honor in a floral print dress to set her a part from the other girls. Florals have also gone right along with the bohemian trend by combining flower crowns with ethereal floral gowns.

4. Pastels ♥

Pastels are subtle & beautiful. In the past, bright colors were chosen to make the bridal party truly stand out. Now, brides are choosing more subtle colors to compliment the bride and create a beautiful overall look. Beiges, creams, ivories, and blush pinks have been extremely popular over the past year, and we do not see this trend changing anytime soon. Inspired by Princess Kates wedding, brides are going against the norm by having everyone in ivory for a “white out” wedding.

Our breathtaking bride Alyssa chose both the beige and mix & match trend by incorporating various beige and cream tones with several different fabric options

5. Online Shopping ♥

It is no secret that online shopping has completely taken over the way we shop. We now have quick and easy ways to shop in the convenience of our homes while getting gowns at a cheap price. Over the past few years, online shopping has taken over the bridal industry. Now, many brides are looking to price match to find the most affordable, quick, and easy gowns for their maids.

WHAT WE CAUTION: We encourage many of our brides to consider the risks of online shopping. For one, the dresses may show up completely different than what is pictured. Another issue we have heard is that the sizing can be off because of the inaccuracy of measuring or the size charts are completely different than traditional American size charts. Online shopping may not be as quick and easy as it appears, especially when gowns are coming from different countries where the shipping may be extended due to the over-seas travel.

WHAT RE RECOMMEND: We encourage our brides to do lots of research and read reviews before choosing to shop online for bridesmaid styles. Being that we are a smaller boutique, we always encourage a more intimate, fun experience with your maids-rather than online shopping. Online shopping is great for shoes and everyday clothing-but when it comes to your WEDDING DAY, we want you to have the best experience possible! It can be challenging to get all of your bridesmaids together, but face timing is always an option in appointments to showcase each style to your bridesmaids that are in different states. You can even make a day out of your shopping experience by going out to lunch afterwards or enjoying more time together for the rest of the day!

WHAT’S NEW AT ABB: Due to the nature of our Saturdays, we are now changing up our bridesmaid appointments. We want the most personalized experience possible for you & your maids, with that being said, we want you to have room to look around at our entire collection and try on as many styles as you are interested in. On Saturdays, many of our appointment spots are filling up fast, so to ensure your custom bridesmaid appointment, we are asking for a $30 charge for a bridesmaid appointment on this day. If you want a Saturday bridesmaid appointment, we will request your payment method for the $30 charge over the phone and will reimburse the $30 if you purchase through us. There is an additional $10 measurement fee to be professionally measured without a purchase. However, Tuesday-Friday we would be happy to serve you & your bridal party free of charge due to availability. The $30 charge is complimentary for our brides, along with a 10% off discount on each bridesmaid’s order!

Our reasoning: We want our specialized consultants to be able to give you their undivided attention and provide both you & your girls the best experience possible! Every step leading up to your wedding day is a beautiful memory that you will treasure forever, we would love to make a memory with you!
